Practice, not performance.

Practice, not performance.

Practice, not performance.

A clear sequence for a smooth bowl: measured tea, suitable water, quick whisking, and an immediate pour. No mystique required.

HOUSE RATIO / USUCHA

2 grams. 60 millilitres. 75°C.

Sift the powder, add warm water, then whisk quickly from the wrist until an even microfoam covers the surface. For a latte, pour over milk and ice immediately.

A practical four-step bowl.

01

Measure and sift

Weigh 2g of matcha and pass it through a fine sieve.

02

Add warm water

Pour 60ml near 75°C / 167°F.

03

Whisk from the wrist

Move in a short, rapid zig-zag.

04

Pour without delay

Drink as prepared or pour over milk and ice.

Use what makes the result repeatable.

01

Measure the leaf

A 0.1g scale keeps strength consistent.

02

Break up clumps

A fine mesh gives water equal access to the powder.

03

Build fine foam

A bamboo whisk or small frother can work efficiently.
